HOYLANDSWAINE suffered two defeats over the weekend and slipped from first to sixth in the very congested Huddersfield Premiership table.

They are now six points off top as just seven separate the top seven with nine games left to play.

Swaine lost at Golcar on Saturday.

Abdul Ameer and Adeel Baig took four wickets each.

Swaine, chasing 295, lost their top five for ten runs combined then Arron Lilley hit 51 and Jack Seddon 50, both off 27 balls. Swaine were bowled out for 200 inside 27 overs.

They were then dismissed for 181 on Sunday in a five-wicket loss at Delph and Dobcross.

Meanwhile, Callum Honeyman hit 130 on both Saturday and Sunday for Hoylandswaine 2nd XI.

He smashed 16 fours and three sixes in each innings as they beat Clayton West by 97 runs on Saturday then Mirfield by 159 on Sunday.

On Saturday, Ben Potter cleared the ropes six times in his 72 off 54 balls as Swaine posted 303.

Potter hit 70 off 49 balls on Sunday in Swaine’s 339 then I Muhammad took six for 34.
