BODYBUILDING is in the blood of one Royston family after teenager Ethan Weiss followed in his dad and grandad’s footsteps by winning his first title earlier this month.

Kyle Weiss, 36, has been training to become a bodybuilder since he was 14 - and his dad Terry has won it all.

Terry picked up the sport in the 1980s after finding a weightlifting gym and soon became hooked.

In 1985 he placed third in his first competition and since then, the accolades haven’t stopped coming for Terry.

And earlier this year Kyle picked up the Mr Europe trophy in Italy - taking after his dad.

But it’s now the turn of Kyle’s son, Ethan, who has also picked up the obsession.

Kyle told the Chronicle: “My young lad Ethan’s now had a bash at bodybuilding.

“He’s only 16 and he won the IBFA show in Teesside in October.

“He then went onto the Britain finals in Gateshead on Sunday and finished in third.

“I’m really proud of him.”

Terry has been retired for some time - but Kyle says he’s likely to compete in next year’s Mr Europe competition alongside himself and his grandson.

“It’s looking like Ethan might be able to compete in Italy next year,” he added.

“My dad’s looking to come out of retirement for that so it would be three generations in the same competition.

“He’s doing really well but it’s all the snap we’ve got to buy him now.”
