IT HAS been a successful week for Barnsley’s junior club and schools teams.
Two clubs from the area reached the semi-finals of the Totty Cup – the long-standing competition for schools in the Don and Dearne area.
Goldthorpe school Sacred Heart beat Queen 6-1 in the quarter-final.
Vinnie Birch and Henry Barber bagged braces with George Barber and Ruben Connor also on target.
They now face Wath Victoria who won 3-1 over Bolton Carrfield thanks to goals by Zachery Johnson, Archie Matthewman and Charlie Chambers.

In girls’ football, a great team performance meant Penistone Church Blacks under 14s secured a 3-1 away win at Barnsley Women’s.
A brace from Layla Denton and a goal from Hattie Woodcock secured victory for the visitors.
Lillian Storey was awarded the coaches’ player of the game and Layla Denton took home the parents’ trophy.
