A MAN who set multiple fires during the large-scale disorder at Manvers in August has been jailed.
Wearing a distinctive red and white hat, Scott Greenwood was seen on video setting fire to wood fence panelling in the car park at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel.
Greenwood was also recorded taking bunches of dried grass and adding them to a fire on the grassland surrounding the hotel.
Following a media release Greenwood was identified and arrested. Refusing to provide any comment to questions asked in a police interview, the 34-year-old was subsequently charged with violent disorder and arson with intent to endanger life.
On October 16 at Sheffield Crown Court, Greenwood, of Tingle Bridge Lane, Hemingfield, pleaded guilty to both charges. Today (Tuesday November 26) he was jailed for six years, with an extended licence period of three years.
In total the investigation into the violent disorder at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel has resulted in 75 people being convicted and sentenced to a combined total of 167 years in jail.
