A BARNSLEY man and his pals will be taking part in a golf challenge to raise money for charity.
Alan Rouane, 32, will be at Sandhill Golf Club in Great Houghton at first light on Monday for The Longest Day Golf Challenge. He and pals Adam and Scott Sapey and Mark Foster aim to raise more than £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support by playing four rounds of golf in just one day.
They start at Sandhill at 4am and play two rounds there before moving to Wath Golf Club for two more rounds. The challenge will take about 18 hours.
Alan is a project co-ordinator at Barnsley Foodbank Partnership.
He said: "All four of us have had three or four people close to us who needed Macmillan's support so that's why we chose this charity.
"Golf is very therapeutic usually but this might be harder work."
