BARNSLEY artist Adam Briscoe admits his latest mural in the Glass Works is one of his favourite to date.

Adam, originally from Wombwell but now living in Penistone, has already completed a number of eye-catching murals across the town - including in The Garrison, Penistone Paramount and Parkway Cinema.

But his latest work in the new-look town centre - which brings together the ‘old and new of Barnsley’ - is one of his favourites.

He told the Chronicle: “It’s a really good one.

“I put a lot of emphasis on Barnsley as a whole.

“It’s all about old and new.

“The Ferris wheel that was in the old market is on there and then there’s the football club, town hall and things like Locke Park - everything that’s good about Barnsley.

“It’s been amazing and I’ve had so many good comments about it.

“It took more than 70 hours to complete as there was a lot of detail.”

Adam’s currently in the process of completing a number of other projects - and he’s got big plans for the future.

“I’m currently doing something at the Barnsley FC Community Trust and then I’m going to do something at Worsbrough Mill,” he added.

“The Glass Works one is up there with my favourites.

“It’s a really proud moment.”
