BARNSLEY Hockey Club won 3-2 at home to fellow strugglers Chesterfield in Peak and Wold Division One.
Bryce Tuckett opened the scoring but the visitors levelled.
Captain James Shaw put Barnsley 2-1 up but again Chesterfield equalised, making it 2-2 at half-time.
The winner came from Tyler Williams who netted his first goal for the club.
The result ended a three-game losing run for Barnsley.
The Reds are now ninth in the 12-team league, with four wins and eight losses from 12 games.
They have overtaken Chesterfield and are seven points clear of the bottom two.
The Darton-based club are next due to play on January 11 at Horncastle.
