A man has been charged with the murder of his wife and will appear in court this morning.
Stephen Barnsdale-Quean, 42, of Upperwood Road, Darfield, was charged with the murder of Chantelle Barnsdale-Quean, 35, following being discharged from hospital, where he had been recovering from stab wounds sustained on Monday afternoon.
Police were called to the Darfield flat at about 4.20pm on Monday, where Chantelle was found dead. Stephen was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to hospital for stab wounds. He was discharged on Wednesday after which he was questioned by police.
The couple had two young daughters who are believed to be staying with their maternal grandmother in Darfield. Stephen Barnsdale-Quean is due to appear at Barnsley Magistrates' Court this morning.
