A round-up of Barnsley FC related stories coming out of the weekend.

WOMEN GET CRUCIAL WIN

Barnsley FC women avoided falling into the National League Division One North relegation zone with an emphatic 4-1 home win over Norton and Stockton Ancients.

Lissa Woodhouse, Jodie Gregory, Louise Biggins and Alayna Millard scored.

Coach Jess Horsley said: “It was a much-needed win.

“The girls have been working really hard in training but some of the results have not been the best.

“It was probably the best we’ve been all season attacking-wise.

“The girls have been staying behind to do extra work on shooting. It was great to see it pay off.”

The Reds will be looking for a sixth win in eight league games on the road this season, and a fourth in a row at Cambridge.
