A POPULAR pizza chain is set to open in Hoyland after Barnsley Council’s planning board approved plans.

An application was submitted to the council in November to turn the former Fultons shop, on Market Street, into a Domino’s.

A report states: “The site comprises a vacant retail unit (Class E), having most recently been occupied as a food retail store which ceased trading in circa 2021.

“The hot food takeaway will open 11am to 11pm daily and will generate a number of part-time and full-time jobs for local residents.

“The site will exclusively operate a takeaway service via collections and deliveries.”

The council approved the application earlier this week.

It will be Domino’s fourth store serving the Barnsley area, with one in the town centre, one at Stairfoot and another in Wath.
