A FUNDRAISER has been launched to support a Royston pensioner after a house fire left her with ‘nothing but the clothes on her back’ just days before Christmas.

Sandra Bailey, 67, was in her house on Milgate Street on Sunday when a fire broke out - leaving her with nothing just days before Christmas.

Her daughter, 31-year-old Vickie Bailey, set up a fundraiser in a bid to try and support her mum.

She told the Chronicle: “Everything is gone.

“Seventeen years of her belongings have just gone up in flames.

“My mum now has nowhere to live.

“She has lost literally everything.

“The house is no longer liveable - it’s not something where we can wipe it down.

“We have to completely start again.

“It’s just so hard and we’re all devastated.

“She only has the clothes on her back.

“She’s devastated.

“I just want to do something to help my mum.”
