A LONDON man has been found guilty of murder following the fatal stabbing of another man in Goldthorpe earlier this year.
Sipho Pfukati, 28, has been on trial following the death of 26-year-old Lazarus Makono at a party in Goldthorpe on February 21.
Emergency services were called at 1.21am to a house on Co-operative Street where police officers found Lazarus to stab wounds to his side.
He died at the scene a short time later.
Pfukati was the subject of a two-week trial at Sheffield Crown Court, culminating with a jury finding him guilty of murder on Monday.
At an earlier hearing at the same court, a second man, Terrance MIotshwa, 28, of Ripley Avenue, Derby, pleaded guilty to one count of assisting an offender and one count of fraud.
They will both be sentenced on November 8.
At an earlier hearing at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court in February 2024, Pfukati was charged with murder and pleaded not guilty.
Two women, aged 20 and 25, and a 32-year-old man who were previously arrested for assisting an offender, were all released with no further action.
