THE Cudworth community is being brought together with a new arts project celebrating the village’s history and culture.

As part of a new history and heritage trail which is organised by the Cudworth Businesses and Community Together group three mosaics have been placed across the village highlighting notable parts of the local culture.

Designed by South Yorkshire artist Coraline Turpin, the collection of artwork depicts Cudworth’s Canadian cousin in Saskatchewan, its historic linen industry and legendary native Sir Michael Parkinson.

Maps for the trail, which include additional details about each mosaic and the history of the town, will be available at the end of the month from the shop Wishes of Cudworth, on Barnsley Road.

Chair of the group, Chris Fox, said: “It took two years to put all of this together.

“It’s taken so long that we were consulting with Sir Michael Parkinson while he was alive about getting it up with what’s happened it’s now changed into a nice tribute.

“It feels really good to get it up now it’s a great project and I think people will enjoy it.”
