DAVID and Caroline Andrews met 63 years ago when they both started work as 15-year-olds.
On that first day at the Barnsley Electroplating Company, off Summer Lane, Caroline admits she looked at David and thought although he looked OK, but it was not love at first sight.
Nevertheless she then agreed to go on a date with him and three other couples just to make the numbers up and she soon decided David really was the man for her.
This week the couple celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with family and friends.
Caroline says: “Getting to know David was the best thing I ever did. He has been a wonderful husband and we are still best friends.”
