Wombwell Town and Worsbrough Bridge were both beaten on Tuesday evening.

Town lost 4-1 at home to Stocksbridge Park Steels in the Sheffield Senior Cup quarter-final on Tuesday.

The visitors went 3-0 up after 27 minutes and, although Jordan Kershaw pulled one back early in the second half, Stocksbridge scored a fourth.

Town – who play two divisions below Stocksbridge – were put back into the competition after losing in the previous round to Maltby who had fielded an ineligible player.

Worsbrough Bridge’s five-game winning run came to an end as they went down 2-1 at Armthorpe Welfare on Tuesday.

Harry Spooner cancelled out an early home goal but Armthorpe scored again in the second half.

It was just a second defeat in 22 games for Bridge who are still in the NCEL play-off places.

They could be overtaken by Dearne and District if they win tonight.
