Top model Stacey Poole is urging people to get on their bikes and help raise money for a cancer hospital.

Weston Park is staging The Big Pedal in Barnsley this summer and this week Stacey, 22, became one of the first riders to sign up for the event.

She said raising money for cancer treatment was a cause close to her heart after the recent death of her grandfather.

The Big Pedal will give riders the chance to choose the length of their route - with the shortest being two miles and the longest being a challenging 35-miler.

Up to 500 people of all ages are expected to take part in the event which will be held on Father's Day - Sunday June 16.

Stacey said: “I am really keen to help promote The Big Pedal and I am excited to be supporting such a fantastic charity."

Weston Park Hospital treats around 9,000 people from Barnsley every year and the charity is launching a campaign in the town to make more people aware of its work.
