BARNSLEY Women’s FC drew 3-3 at home to Worcester City in the National League Division One Midlands.

Caroline Nuttall scored twice and Tally Diamond once for the Reds who fell behind twice then led 3-2 before conceding a late equaliser.

They are seventh with 30 points from 21 games, with one to play as well as a Sheffield Cup semi-final at home to Huddersfield Town on Sunday from 2pm.

On the Worcester match, manager Craige Richardson said: “It was a game of two halves.

“In the first half, it was a typical game when one team is mid-table with nothing to play for and the other is fighting for survival. We missed a lot of chances but conceded two goals from long balls.

“We made changes at half-time and looked great, took the lead and never looked like losing it. But we were all at sea at the back for the late equaliser which tells the story of our season.

“I am hoping the semi-final will give the girls the spark they need.

“We know we have it in our locker to cause a bit of an upset.”

Dearne and District drew 0-0 at home to Brodsworth Welfare in Division Three of the Sheffield and Hallamshire League.

AFC Pogmoor lost 5-2 at home to Dronfield Town reserves.
