BARNSLEY midfielder Jon Russell has been selected in the senior Jamaica squad for the current international break.

Jamaica are due to host Cuba on Friday then visit Honduras on Tuesday, in the CONCACAF Nations League.

Russell has not started for the Reds in the league this season, coming off the bench three times and making three cup appearances.

Other call-ups could be announced in due course but the game is not due to be called off.

Goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina was included in the initial USA squad but did not make the final group.

Meanwhile, Manchester United youngster Jacob Devaney, from Barnsley, has been selected for Republic of Ireland’s under 19s. He is the son of former Reds winger now assistant head coach Martin.
