Barnsley secured a 3-0 win at League Two Accrington Stanley in their latest pre-season friendly.
Adam Phillips opened the scoring just before half-time then Aiden Marsh and Josh Earl netted late on.
Conor Hourihane played for the first time since returning, while Luca Connell was not involved.
The Reds controlled the game and had by far the better chances throughout.
The Reds were on top early on, with Earl heading a Marc Roberts cross wide then, at the other end, Josh Woods nodded just off target from a free-kick.
Barry Cotter shot over the bar 15 yards out from a Hourihane corner on the right, before Josh Benson fired wide from just outside the box after a fine run.
Benson came off after 37 minutes and walked down the tunnel for treatment. He was replaced by Vimal Yoganathan.
Phillips headed in unmarked from a Hourihane corner on the right to put the visitors in front at the break.
Very little happened in the second half until Marsh made it 2-0 on 70 minutes, turning in a low cross from fellow academy graduate Jonathan Bland a few yards out.
The Reds then had a couple more chances, with Yoganathan shooting over from just inside the box.
The third goal saw Josh Earl head Corey O’Keeffe’s right-wing corner into the top right corner of the goal on 85 minutes.
Barnsley brought on trialist Mipo Odubeko who headed wide from close-range from an O’Keeffe cross, then Yoganathan shot over from 12 yards out after a scramble from a corner.
