CENTENARIAN Margaret Riley’s face lit up when she saw her grandchildren at her 100th birthday party on Sunday.
Known to her friends and family as Peggy, the 100-year-old was thrilled with how her party at Dearne Valley Care Centre turned out.
Some of her nearest and dearest were on hand to offer their well-wishes, and the staff at the care home said her face ‘lit up’ when she saw her grandchildren.
Wendy Warburton, senior care nurse at the Goldthorpe facility, told the Chronicle: “She likes to be known as Peggy - that’s her nickname.
“She’s still going strong - you’ll definitely know when she wants something.
“She’s so popular and everyone here knows who she is.
“Peggy is lovely and she has a great sense of humour - she’s just so loving.
“She loves a kiss and a cuddle.
“On Sunday she had a party where her family came down and everyone had some cake.
“She was really loving it.”
