A BARNSLEY war veteran celebrated his 103rd birthday with the Mayor of Barnsley last week.
Gerrard Finlay has lived through World War Two and has seen 22 different Prime Ministers but he’s still managing to keep a smile on his face.
He currently resides at Dearnelea Park care home in Thurnscoe and on his birthday on June 6 he had an array of people to celebrate with.
Wendy Dale, who works at the home, said: “Gerrard is a war veteran and he celebrated with the mayor and Keeley May, an entertainer.
“Debbie and Karen, his carers, went above and beyond to make a special day for Gerrard.”
