A BARNSLEY man believes residents are being ‘let down’ by authorities who have let their green spaces turn into a ‘dumping ground’.
Liam Hardcastle, who ran in the last local elections, has been in regular contact with residents on Far View Terrace and Highstone Crescent, who feel their green spaces are being misused.
He told the Chronicle: “Berneslai Homes are responsible for this land, and pay the council to cut the grass and remove any fly-tipping.
“For the past three years they have been neglected.
“Residents from the area are being let down.
“This green space has become a dumping ground for fly-tipping, and unusable for the local children and families to use due to the grass being overgrown.
“I have an email from neighbourhood services stating the green space would be checked for fly-tipping and cut by the end of May and again at the end of September.
“This clearly isn’t the case and someone is failing in their responsibilities.”
