ANGRY residents have vowed to fight plans to build more than 300 homes in Cudworth.
Barratt Homes held a public consultation at Valley Community Centre last week where concerned residents heard about its outline plans for 'up to 316' homes.
But locals have slammed the proposals and formed an action group - Cudworth Unites - in a bid to save the former greenbelt site, situated off Carrs Lane. More than 220 people have signed an online petition since it was started last Friday.
A spokesperson from Barratt Homes said: "This development would ensure that a wide range of much-needed new homes in a sustainable location are delivered over the forthcoming years, which in turn would generate significant financial contributions to existing local facilities, including primary and secondary schools within the area.
"We remain fully committed to meaningful and engaging public consultation and all feedback received will be incorporated into our planning submission, which is expected to be made in July 2015."
