A BRIDE confined to a wheelchair through terminal cancer is hoping to be strong enough to walk down the aisle without it when she marries the man of her dreams in just over two weeks.
Friends, relatives and strangers raised about £3,500 to help give Jamie Lea Jepson the wedding she has always wanted in a flurry of fund-raising activities since her story first appeared in the Chronicle three weeks ago.
Jamie, 25, and husband-to-be Gareth Harrison will tie the knot on January 10 at Barnsley Register Office, followed by a meal at the Ramada Encore at Dodworth, and a reception at Milton Hall, Elsecar.
Jamie, of Birkwood Avenue, Cudworth, was diagnosed with cervical cancer in May and had a hysterectomy to get rid of the tumour. The operation had initially been thought successful.
But in October she was given the devastating news the cancer had returned and doctors could do no more.
