A WOMBWELL theatre performer who has spent years travelling and studying abroad is returning home for a new show she’s set to direct.
‘The Addams Family’, an upcoming musical comedy production by the Wombwell Amateur Operatic Society, will be the first show Isobel Oliver-Haste has ever directed as she returns home from her university studies in Barcelona.
Joining the group when she was only eight years old, Isobel has grown to adore the stage and achieved first-class honours in her recent performing arts degree.
“I still remember seeing her on stage for the first time,” Jo Owen, from the society, told the Chronicle.
“She was just this little girl with a big, smiley face who took over the stage.
“As she got older she did various parts with us and has been in all sorts of shows and pantomimes.”
Her directorial debut will take place at the George Street Theatre in Wombwell and is set to run from November 20 to 24.
“This is a show we’ve never done before,” Jo added.
“So it’ll be really interesting to see her take on it - it’s a new venture for us and her.”
