RED CARD AND INJURIES IN U21S DRAW

KELECHI Nwakali was sent off in Barnsley under 21s’ 2-2 draw at home to Birmingham City on Tuesday.

Josiah Dyer and Connor Barratt put the Reds in front twice but the visitors levelled each time.

Ziggy Kozluk, Tom Senior and Barry Cotter all came off injured in the first half then Nwakali was sent off after an altercation late on.

Barnsley under 18s lost 2-1 at Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.

They are now due to host Fleetwood Town on Friday at 11am.

DUO LOANED OUT TO LUKE STEELE’S TEAM

BARNSLEY youngsters Bayley McCann and Jonathan Bland have been sent out on short-term loans to a club managed by Reds hero Luke Steele.

Peterborough Sports play in National League North and one of their managers is former goalkeeper Steele who made more than 200 appearances for the Reds between 2008 and 2014.

Left-back McCann and midfielder Bland, both 18, have played in the EFL Trophy but are yet to make their league debuts for the Reds.

McCann started at home to Alfreton on Tuesday and Bland came off the bench in a 3-1 win.

READING GAME ON NOVEMBER 26

Barnsley’s game at home to Reading has been moved forward to Tuesday, November 26.

The match was scheduled for November 30 but it was made clear it would be changed if either side reached the second round of the FA Cup, and both did.

Barnsley, who are also at home to Rotherham United on Friday, are now due to host Wigan and Reading within four days of each other then welcome Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup on the final weekend of the month.

Their only away game scheduled this month is at Cambridge United on the 16th. It could be called off if either side has three international call-ups but there had been no official decision on that as of Wednesday.

WOMEN DUE BACK IN ACTION ON SUNDAY

BARNSLEY FC women are due back in action after a two-week break on Sunday.

The Reds are third-bottom in the National League Division One North, on the same points as the two teams in the relegation zone but ahead of them on goal difference.

They have six points from eight games and are now due to host mid-table Norton and Stockton Ancients from 2pm on Oakwell's 'showcase' pitch.

U18S TO HOST CARLISLE IN YOUTH CUP

Barnsley under 18s have been drawn at home to Carlisle United in the second round of the FA Youth Cup.

The young Reds won 6-0 at Oldham Athletic last week.

The date for the Carlisle game is yet to be confirmed.
