PLANS to stop motorists waiting at any time at a Wombwell industrial estate following concerns from a local firm have now been rubber-stamped - and the new rules will come into effect from Monday.

Valley Park Industrial Estate, located on Newlands Way and Meadowgate, is home to a number of business and commercial units.

Some have on-site parking available for staff and visitors but the council believe there is currently an issue with off-street parking.

A report, which details proposals of a ‘no waiting at any time’ restriction, says that all of Newlands Way and parts of Meadowgate will be impacted by the scheme.

It comes after Cranswick Foods aired their concerns to council bosses.

After a period of consultation, the plans were officially approved last week - and they’ll come into effect from Monday.

Wombwell councillors Brenda Eastwood, Robert Frost and James Higginbottom told the Chronicle: “We are pleased to see that the no waiting restrictions on Valley Park Industrial Estate are now implemented and operational.

“These restrictions will help to tackle obstructive parking around the businesses on-site and address the concerns that have been raised with local members.

“We are grateful to local businesses who have supported this scheme and hope this will support their continued growth and success in Wombwell.”
