A LOCAL councillor is encouraging residents to get in touch following reported vandalism and criminal damage at Mapplewell Park.
It’s reported that after 4.30pm on Tuesday evening, Mapplewell Bowling Club was tackled by vandals.
Coun Steve Hunt has asked for anyone with any information to contact the police.
He said: “This damage involved two road signs from the kids’ cycle track being ripped out and thrown onto the bowling green.
“Guttering at the bowling green was damaged together with an anti-climb paint sign.
“I have asked the council’s officer who monitors the park’s CCTV to review the footage.
“At last week’s PACT meeting I called for patrols to tackle the rise in ASB that we are seeing.
“This was agreed to.
“I have asked South Yorkshire Police and the council’s Safer Neighbourhood Service to let me know what patrols have taken place since the PACT meeting and what patrols are planned.”
