CAWTHORNE Primary School has been awarded for its commitment to supporting its pupils.

The school have been awarded the Silver Leeds Beckett Mental Health Award, which focuses on the school’s positive work on mental health and wellbeing.

Adam Bramall, the school’s headteacher, told the Chronicle he is proud of his school for receiving the prestigious award.

He added: “We are extremely pleased to have been awarded.

“This is a testament to the hard work and effort of our school community and evidences our strong ethos of positive wellbeing and mental health for all.

“As a school we care about and love each other and ourselves.

“This is the fundamental principle of our school parable ‘The Good Samaritan’ and a golden thread that runs through all that we do.

“We want everyone at Cawthorne to be healthy, happy, active and resilient so that we can overcome challenges and flourish in our lives.”
