A HALLOWEEN-inspired fundraiser helped raise enough money to fix the vandalism at the Autism Allotments site.

The site is run by dads Michael and Paul Atwal-Brice.

The duo have successfully set up the Autism Allotments site on Togo Street - a sensory garden for autistic children across Barnsley.

It’s been a huge success and now the pair are hoping to create something for adults with learning disabilities - a project called Accessible Allotments.

But despite everything they have done for the local community - they were targeted by vandals late last month.

Over the Halloween period the duo did what they do best and hosted an event for all the community to attend.

And they managed to raise more than £400 which will go towards repairing the damage.

Michael told the Chronicle: “Our Halloween parties were a huge success with some visitors travelling over two hours to come here.

“Lots of Barnsley children and adults enjoyed the fun.

“It raised more than £400 so that will help pay for the recent damage to the site.

“It will also replace the CCTV.”
