BARNSLEY Hospice hosted their annual takeover day at Oakwell earlier this month.

Players donned the famous orange of the hospice as volunteers aimed to raise money for the site.

Despite the 2-1 loss to local rivals Huddersfield Town, it was a great day for Barnsley Hospice.

A spokesperson said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to all the fans who kindly donated, your generosity will help us continue to be there for local people when they need us most.

“Thank you to our fantastic team of volunteers who put on their orange and came out to help us and of course Barnsley Football Club for their ongoing support of the hospice and allowing us to ‘take over’ once again.

“We look forward to sharing the total raised with you all very soon.

“We’ve also still got a prize to claim from our raffle in the Legends Suite.

“If you have orange tickets 751-755, please get in touch with our fundraising team at fundraising@barnsley-hospice.org.”
