HELLO, Reds. Firstly, I hope you are all well and enjoying the start to the season.

The welcome I’ve had to the club from the supporters has been fantastic and I really appreciate your backing during my opening months here.

We were all disappointed with the opening game of the season against Mansfield at Oakwell, but we felt there were encouraging signs, despite not winning, to take us forward.

I can’t hide the fact I’ve not been pleased with the standard of our performances in some games, but I’m proud of the lads and the application they’ve given me so far.

We really want to make Oakwell a fortress this season.

Any team that has been successful in the past has always had good home form to prop up their season and we are no different.

We want to get fans off their seats and produce football where our supporters look forward to walking through the turnstiles.

The bottom line is always the result, and I have an addiction to winning which you could consider as unhealthy.

However, my coaching staff and I have an unwavering desire to win, and that is reflected in our work throughout the week and on matchdays.

I was bitterly disappointed with the draw against Northampton at home, as I felt we dominated large parts of the game and should have been more clinical.

We also showed a ‘soft’ side to us, which we can’t afford to have in this tough, attritional division.

The victories against Sheffield United, Crawley and Bristol Rovers were all very pleasing for different reasons.

The league wins obviously gave us the three points on each occasion, but showed we have different qualities where required.

I have spoken a lot about adaptability with my staff and the team before, I like to be able to change it up game to game or within a match if we feel it gives us a better chance to win, ultimately.

The additions of Davis Keillor-Dunn and Stephen Humphrys bolsters our options at the top end of the pitch, both players having quality and able to play in different positions.

We were delighted for Davis after scoring and winning in his Barnsley debut, we know what he is capable of and there is more to come.

Our Carabao Cup run has provided us with a trip to face Manchester United at Old Trafford, a very special night I’m sure for our football club.

I want our players, staff and supporters to enjoy every minute, but ultimately, we are there to do a job.

We want to apply ourselves and produce a performance we know we can to show the world what this club is all about.

I’m sure you in the fans will do us proud.

Thank you for your immense support.

We know you are spending your hard-earned money to support us, and every one of us appreciates that.

Enjoy Old Trafford and I’m sure we’ll catch up soon.
