FOR one student GCSE exams came with some extra stresses - as between tests he was racing across the country.
Jonathan Moore has been making a name for himself in the motorsport world, travelling across the country for the past few months competing in the Junior Saloon Car Championship.
However, while other racers may get a chance to relax, Jonathan was hard at work revising, travelling between races and exams on a week-to-week basis.
Thankfully, the 16-year-old has succeeded on both fronts, achieving high enough grades to get a place in his top-choice college, whilst maintaining his championship lead.
His mum, Cheryl Goulding, told the Chronicle: “He did have to miss some track times because of exams.
“There was one particular day where he had geography and science exams when he was meant to be racing.
“But he’s still come away with amazing results.”
Next week, he is set to move to Loughborough before starting studies for the Motorsport UK Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiCE).
“It’s exciting, but it’s a lot of change as well,” Cheryl added.
“He’s a young 16, his birthday’s in May so he’s one of the youngest in the year.
“But he’s really looking forward to it and he’s got friends going there as well.
“It’s all good news for him right now, and we’re really pleased with his exams - it shows how hard he’s worked.”
