AN amateur horse rider is reaching the next level as she has qualified to take part in the Horse of the Year competition.
Solicitor Hannah Pedley, took her bay horse, Kilbrickens Princess - who is also known as Mabel - down to Arena UK in Grantham at the beginning of the month for the ‘Search for a Star’ qualifier competition, which is run by SEIB Insurance Brokers.
The pair competed in and won the Riding Horse Hack class under top judge Alan Mickleburgh to earn their Horse of the Year qualification.
They will now go on to compete for the title at the NEC in Birmingham in early October.
Hannah said: “Mabel felt great in the ring it was like she knew she should really perform on the day.
“I’ve owned her for three years and during this time we have done a bit of everything.
“She was bred as a jumper so that and eventing are also things we like to do.
“I fit in competing and looking after Mabel around my full-time job as a solicitor so it’s just great for us to win something like this.”
