LEADERS Darfield won a crucial game in their Division One promotion push, thanks to a hundred by Jabari Mills, and now face another on Saturday.

Mills hit 121 off 113 balls with 12 fours and five sixes in the win at third-placed Conisbrough. It was the Trinidadian’s first century for the club and put him top of the division’s run charts.

Darfield – who had started the day second – are now six points clear at the top and visit second-placed Oughtibridge next.

Darfield were 35 for four but Mills and Saman Khursheed (79 not out) added 226 for the fifth wicket.

They posted 286 then removed Conisbrough for 164.

Khursheed completed a fine game with five wickets and Joe Stickland took four.

Monk Bretton won by two wickets at Hallam 2nd XI in Division Two.

Jordan Clayton took four for 18 to bowl the hosts out for 125.

Worsbrough Bridge removed Bradfield for 108 in a five-wicket Division Three win. Zarmash Tarakhil took five wickets and Mark Wilkinson three for ten off 12.1 overs, then Tarakhil made 55.

Higham fell 122 runs short chasing 248 at Norton Oakes.

Brad Gledhill took three wickets for Higham who dropped out of the promotion places.

Kexborough were skittled for 78 chasing 147 at Thorncliffe and Wentworth, so dropped back into the relegation zone.

Neil Hinchliffe took five wickets and Thomas Green three.

Cawthorne 2nd XI chased 151 for a two-wicket win at home to Caribbean Sports. Ryan Gibson took five wickets.

Wombwell Main won by 146 runs at home to Sheffield Collegiate 4th XI in Division Four.

Tom Goldsby-West top-scored with 62 in Wombwell’s 224 then Tom Peck and Adam Carnall took three wickets each.

Wombwell are fourth, 14 points outside the promotion places.

Silkstone United were removed for 141 in a seven-wicket loss at Sprotbrough 2nd XI.

Rockingham 2nd XI defended 186 by removing Hallam 3rd XI for 79.

Division Seven leaders Green Moor lost by a run at home to Houghton Main 2nd XI.

James Christopherson took four wickets for Green Moor, who were 66 for seven chasing 122 then lost their final wicket to a run-out while trying to level the scores.

Penistone 2nd XI fell 67 runs short chasing 185 against Handsworth 2nd XI in Division Six.

William Tyas took four wickets.

Elsecar 3rd XI bowled Barnby Dun 2nd XI out for 113 in an eight-wicket Division Eight win.

Freddie Rowbottom took four wickets then Alfie Gibson made 50 off 33 balls with ten fours.

Leaders Rockingham 3rd XI removed Kexborough 2nd XI for 84 defending 139.

Simon Grindle took four wickets.

Monk Bretton 2nd XI chased 207 for a ten-wicket victory at home to Hallam 4th XI.

Ben Davis scored 103 not out off 86 balls with 16 fours and two sixes while his fellow opener Jenson Hayes finished on 98 not out off 79 balls with 11 fours and four sixes.

Darren Newton made 113 off 64 balls as Worsbrough Bridge 2nd XI beat Wombwell Town 2nd XI by 60 runs. Newton hit five sixes and 16 fours in Wombwell’s 200.

Wombwell were then dismissed for 92 chasing 120 against Barnby Dun 2nd XI in the quarter-final of the Billy Oates Memorial Cup.
