BARNSLEY Tennis Club's junior teams have enjoyed a successful winter season.
The under 16s team are champions of their league. The under 14s A team finished as runners-up in Yorkshire League Division One and the B team came third in Division Two.
Vice-chairman John Gregson said: “A big shout-out for our junior teams and possibly not everybody knows how much young talent we have coming through. This is thanks to Alice Robson (club coach) and the whole coaching team, to Ruth Nixon (parent and committee member) who gives up so much time in running the teams. It is also thanks to the great parental support and encouragement the young players receive and last but by no means least the great effort and hard work of the young players themselves.”
