A GROUP will head to Switzerland this weekend to take part in a bungee jump for charity.
Dave Watson, chair of trustees at the Barnsley FC Community Trust, will be joined by Dave Watson, Craig Douglas, Judd Pytlakowski and Glen Roberts.
They will head to Contra Dam, in Ticino, and jump for Matthew’s a Friend In Me, which was set up in honour of Elsecar’s Matthew Jacobs, who was just nine years old when he died in 2012 from an inoperable brain tumour.
Dave said: “The fund raises money for families who find themselves in the unfortunate position of having a child suffering from a brain tumour or some kind of childhood cancer.
“There’s been a series of events to raise funds for the charity over the year but the one that may be the most harrowing is the ‘James Bond’ bungee jump in Switzerland, from the movie GoldenEye.
“We have been helped and supported by the mayor’s office, MP Dan Jarvis and the Barnsley FC Community Trust among others.”
Donations can be directly made at the Matthew’s A Friend In Me Just Giving page.
