Nicky Eaden has returned to Barnsley as an academy coach.
The Hoyland man played 342 games for the Reds from 1994 to 2000 including their 1997/98 Premiership season.
He will now return as Professional Senior Development coach.
He has been an academy coach with Leicester and Coventry before a stint coaching in Jamaica.
Nick Colgan, who helped Barnsley to promotion out of League One in 2006, has been named academy goalkeeper coach.
