A FUNDRAISING event in honour of those who were affected by recent fires will be held at Barnsley Trades Club this month.
On the hottest day of the year, four homes were completely burnt to the ground - and another two were partially destroyed - on Woodland Drive in Kingstone.
The cause of the fire has been deemed to be accidental, starting in a garden shed and was of electrical origin.
Barnsley Trades Club, based on nearby Racecommon Road, will be hosting a fundraising event on August 5, with all proceeds going to help those affected.
Judith Forster, assistant secretary of the club, said: “We are holding a fundraising event to help those affected by the Woodland Drive fire disaster.
“We’ve got a DJ, the Manhattans playing and we’re currently going around businesses asking for donations for a raffle.”
It’s £2 to enter, with kids going in free, and will begin in the evening.
