Isaac Christie-Davies has been loaned by Barnsley to Slovakian club DAC for the remainder of the season.
The 23-year-old will re-unite with manager Bernd Storck who brought him on loan to Belgian club Cercle Brugge last season before injury prevented him making his professional debut.
The midfielder signed a three-year contract with Barnsley in the summer, having been released by Liverpool.
Christie-Davies is yet to make his Reds debut and, although he has been in some first team matchday squads, has mainly been playing for the under 23s.
Head coach Valerien Ismael said: "It is not easy for him because he came back from an injury. He needs to play and develop physicality, to get his rhythm and confidence back. He has a great mentality and he’s a good guy. When he comes back, he can have a real chance to compete for the first team."
DAC – full name Dunajska Streda – are second in the Slovakian top flight and are due to play next on February 14.
