THE MUM of a bed-bound three-year-old has started a campaign to get him a special wheelchair, after Barnsley Hospital ran out of its supply.
Keeley Carlile, of Watermead Street, Bolton-on-Dearne, started her campaign to get son Riley Doherty a special chair after he broke his femur in an accident in Carrfield Park.
It left him with a pot from his ankle up to his waist and a restrictive cast covering half his body. He can’t bend, so without a wheelchair he has been unable leave his bed and will be trapped there for ten weeks.
Keeley said she has been told the hospital had already allocated its pair of £1,500 specially adapted chairs, designed to recline so Riley can sit in it comfortably.
Keeley is running a charity raffle and a GoFundMe page has been set up for Riley. Search ‘wheelchair for Riley’ on GoFundMe for more information.
