Hemingfield cyclist Jenson Young was left cursing his luck as a puncture cost him victory at the gruelling Three Peaks cyclocross race.
Young, in the jersey of team Ribble Verge, had to settle for second place at the 60th edition of the race which takes in the peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-Y-Ghent in North Yorkshire.
The 61km course included unrideable sections where the bike had to be carried by the rider.
Young was on course to claim victory in his maiden appearance at the notoriously difficult race until a late puncture curtailed his celebrations as he finished a minute and 23 seconds behind the winner.
