LITTLE Elizabeth Margaret Donald was welcomed into the world with open arms last week as she joined a long list of women in her family who reached the unlikely milestone of five generations.

Her mum, 24-year-old Chloe Renshaw, said she and her partner, Alexander Donald, waited to find out her gender until the birth - something she says has helped push her through over the last nine months.

Elizabeth is now the fifth generation of women in her family after her mum, nannan 50-year-old Jeannette, great-nannan 69-year-old Jean and 94-year-old great-great-nannan Margaret.

Chloe told the Chronicle: “Elizabeth Margaret Donald was born in Barnsley Hospital at 7.42am on September 24, weighing seven pounds.

“I was induced and I had an epidural that worked wonders.

“My birth partners were my partner Alexander Donald and my mum Jeannette Renshaw.

“I couldn’t have done it without them - Alex is an amazing partner and a natural daddy and is looking after us both.

“Elizabeth’s middle name, Margaret, is after her great-great-nannan Margaret, she’ll be 94 in a week or so and is absolutely overjoyed.

“She cried with joy when my mum rang her from the delivery room and was speechless when we said her name.

“Great-nannan Jean Precious is absolutely smitten with her too.

“Her late husband and my grandad, David Precious, once said that becoming a grandparent was the greatest feeling ever.

“He’d have adored being a great-grandad.”
