CHARITY shops get all kinds of donations - from wedding dresses to wellington boots, first edition classic books to handbags, valuable antiques to DVDs, umbrellas to, well, you name it.
But a recent donation made to the Barnsley branch of the British Heart Foundation came as a real surprise to staff at the shop.
Manager Joanne Smith was in the stock room above the Market Street shop sorting out a suitcase full of stuff when she discovered two passport style documents complete with photographs.
One was in the name of Louisa May Gould of Rue De La Fontaine, St Peter, Jersey and dated October 7 1871.
The other was in the name of Joseph Arthur Miere of St Helier, Jersey and dated November 22, 1926.
