A LOCAL actor who shot to fame as DS Aiden Healy on the beloved ITV crime drama Vera is preparing to take on his next challenge.
Kenny Doughty spent eight years working alongside Brenda Blethyn on Vera, stepping down from the police drama in 2023.
The actor has since been missing from TV screens, though is set to make a return in the new Channel 5 show The Au Pair, based on the best-selling book by Emma Rous.
Doughty will play Chris Dalton, whose seemingly ideal life with wife Zoe - played by Sally Bretton of Not Going Out fame - and two children Amber and Noah comes crumbling down.
He will star alongside Poirot himself, Sir David Suchet, and French star Ludmilla Makowski.
