HE'S a real tweetie pie...that's the prize-winning budgie who has put a smile on the face of Phil Hickling, landlord of the Milton Arms in Elsecar.
Phil and the bird, a cobalt spangled cock, won Best in Show at the Sheffield Budgerigar Society's show at Milton Hall last Sunday. As if that wasn't enough, Phil also walked off with Best Breeder in show with a grey hen. He beat off competition from 358 entries.
Phil and his wife Vikki have been breeding budgies since the 1980s apart from a spell when Phil kept Harris hawks.
