A ROYAL fashion designer is coming to Barnsley for a unique fundraising event to support a beloved local service.
The ‘30 Years of Fashion’ event on March 15 will see fashion designer for the late Queen Elizabeth II, Angela Kelly CVO, give expert advice on dressing well.
Guests will also be able to shop for pre-loved clothes, browse speciality stalls and enjoy a two-course meal.
Angela - who also wrote the Sunday Times’ best-selling novel ‘The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe’ - said she was ‘delighted’ to help the hospice.
She added: “I became involved with Barnsley Hospice thanks to my neighbour who works as a doctor there and is involved in fundraising for this important service.
“I’m delighted to offer my insights and tips in aid of the hospice.”
All profits from the ‘30 Years in Fashion’ event, will go towards supporting Barnsley Hospice and the specialist palliative and end of life care it provides to local people and their families when they need it most.
Vicky Stead, community relationships manager at the hospice, said: “We are thrilled to have Angela join us for this special event. With her incredible career in the fashion industry and expertise in dressing well, we’re sure this event will be a day to remember and much-loved by our supporters.
“Events like this help to generate vital funds the hospice needs to sustain its services.
“By buying a ticket, you’ll be helping make a difference to the Barnsley community whilst enjoying a fashion-filled day with others.”
