GOLDTHORPE Library officially reopened its doors on Monday following a refurbishment.

It comes following the reopening of Darfield Library - with both projects supported by £500,000 in funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Goldthorpe Library is the ninth branch in the borough to benefit from the council’s Libraries Refurbishment Programme.

Anna Hartley, executive director for public health and communities, said: “Since the start of the Libraries Refurbishment Programme we’ve been hard at work transforming our library spaces, and we can’t wait to welcome residents back to the newly-refurbished Goldthorpe Library.

“We hope you’ll enjoy the new space, and we’d like to thank you for your patience while we carried out these works.

“Whether you’re using the library to borrow books, study, or attend an event or activity, please do come down and make the most of the exciting new space.”
