Max Watters is set to miss four to six weeks with an ankle injury while Barnsley are ‘desperate’ for new strikers in the transfer window.
Watters hurt his ankle on Tuesday at Wycombe. He is now expected to be out until March.
The Reds want strikers before the window closes at 11pm on Monday.
Head coach Darrell Clarke told the Chronicle: “It’s an area of the pitch we’re trying to strengthen desperately and, hopefully by the end of play Monday, we have reinforcements.”
