A round-up of some Barnsley FC related stories from this week.
CLARKE – THIS GAME HITS YOU WHERE IT HURTS
Darrell Clarke is frustrated Barnsley did not ‘kick on’ after getting into League One’s top six with four wins but believes the current poor form could flip back the other way.
The Reds have lost to Bristol Rovers, Stevenage and Wycombe in their last three games, which has seen them drop from fifth to ninth, two points off the play-offs.
Clarke told the Chronicle: “It’s been very frustrating because it’s a few times we’ve been in the top six then not kicked on.
“We win four in a row then go to Rovers, miss loads of chances, then concede two injury-time goals in two games.
“This game hits you where it hurts but it can quickly go the other way if you keep believing.”
MARSH NETS FOR LOAN CLUB
AIDEN Marsh scored the first goal of his loan spell at Raith Rovers on Tuesday.
The striker netted the third goal in a 3-0 win at Hamilton Academicals in the Scottish second tier.
Goalkeeper Adam Hayton made his debut for Matlock Town, replacing Oakwell club-mate Rogan Ravenhill. They drew 2-2 with FC United of Manchester.
U18S WIN 2-0 AND U21S LOSE 4-0
Barnsley under 18s won 2-0 at Birmingham City.
Kieran Graham and Will Thompson scored in the second half.
They are now due to visit Peterborough United in the league on Saturday then visit Cheltenham in the PDL Cup quarter-final on Tuesday.
Barnsley under 21s lost 4-0 at home to Burnley on Tuesday.
WOMEN DUE BACK IN ACTION ON SUNDAY
Barnsley FC women did not play this week but are due to visit Stockport County in the National League Division One North on Sunday.
They are currently seventh, three points clear of the relegation zone, having taken 14 points from 13 games so far.
Their only game in 2025 was last week’s 16-0 win at Kiveton Park reserves in the Sheffield Senior Cup.
